2007 SUMMER CAMP in Transylvania

Every year the invitation goes out to a large number of Romanian churches inviting young people to come and participate in a two week camp in a secluded mountain campsite in Romania.



The camp is sponsored by the GOLGOTHA BIBLE SCHOOL in Talmaciu.

Some of the young people who attend come from as far away as Scotland and Germany.



Most of the campers sleep in tents but gather for meals and inside recreation (in case it rains) in a rather rustic building on the camp grounds.



Though the facilities are not modern, the "roughness" of the camp serves to draw the campers into a "closer fellowship" with each other.



There is Bible study and a message each morning. There is opportunity for sports and games.



There is hiking into the surrounding mountains, bonfires at night and plenty of good food prepared by a capable kitchen staff.



If there is a "downside" to this camping experience, it is because most of the young people who want to participate can't really afford to do so. It costs about £7.00 or $14.00 a day to cover everything. In order not to exclude those who have lessor means, we invite churches and interested friends to help finance a camper so he or she can get in on an unforgettable experience. We have set up a "Camp Fund" for anyone wanting to make a contribution.
